We are bringing together new music which expresses the Idylic Church setting of St Mary’s Shipley which is steeped in history, from the Knights templar to being the resting place of composer and teacher Benjamin Britten in John Ireland.
Fabulous music, Nyetimber, and history in the making with Shipley Concerto by Paul Lewis , Malcolm Singers ‘Eli Eli’ written for String Academy and John Ireland’s Toccatta from his Concertino Pastorale written with the Sussex views in sight from the church porch. We are delighted that our evenings composers will conduct their music, and we guarantee a special performance which will reflect and fill this ancient parish with fabulous string music.
