Roderick Williams OBE is one of this country’s most sought after baritones and is constantly in demand on the concert platform and in recital, encompassing a repertoire from the baroque to world premieres. In 2016 he won the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Singer of the year award.

As well as being a world renowned Baritone, Roderick is a sought after composer in his own right. We approached Roderick a few years ago and “Knepp Piano Trio” was first commissioned by us in 2019.

With updated movements for 2022, this beautiful work takes forward the long established Wilding Concert, reflecting the work of both Ralph Vaughan Williams, (who wrote the Lark Ascending in Horsham) and John Ireland (who rests at Shipley Church).

Roderick brilliantly takes this folk melody and sets it at the centre of the Wilding at Knepp Castle Estate.

Knepp Piano Trio will be performed by the Stradivarius Piano Trio who have recently recorded this movement at Abbey Road in advance of a 2023 release on the UK’s premiere classical label Signum.
