Music, education and exchange
Building on more than 25 years of music education in the UK and a decade of international work in Hong Kong and China, Bernardi Music Group (BMG) is developing its work in India through a collaboration with Seven Sisters Conservatoire.
The partnership brings together BMG’s experience in performance and music education with Seven Sisters’ understanding of the region, its relationships and its commitment to developing opportunities for young musicians across North East India.
Together, the organisations are creating opportunities for learning, performance and musical exchange, while developing new connections between musicians and communities in India and the UK. Explore BMG International current work in Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China.

Learning through performance
Through its long-established education programmes, BMG has created opportunities for young musicians to learn alongside professional performers and educators, with former students progressing to leading UK music institutions.
Performance is central to this approach. Alongside developing technique and musicianship, rehearsing and performing with others builds confidence, communication and the ability to listen and respond as part of an ensemble.
BMG brings this practical, performance-led experience to its work in India through tuition, rehearsal and collaborative music-making.
A partnership for North East India
BMG’s work in India is being developed with Seven Sisters Conservatoire, an initiative focused on supporting young musicians and developing musical opportunities across North East India.
Seven Sisters brings an understanding of the region and its musical communities, helping to shape programmes around the young musicians they are intended to serve.
Together, the partnership draws on this regional understanding and BMG’s experience in performance, education and ensemble music-making.

India 2026
The collaboration takes its next step in October 2026, when musicians from BMG will travel to Assam to work with young musicians from across the region as part of a six-day programme developed with Seven Sisters Conservatoire.
Running from 26–31 October, the programme will combine individual tuition, ensemble coaching, rehearsal and performance. Participants will work directly with experienced professional musicians, developing their own playing while learning to listen, respond and perform as part of an ensemble.
The week will culminate in shared performance, bringing BMG’s performance-led approach to life in Assam.
